Young Professionals: Business & Enterprise
Ages 13 – 18
The Business stream of Young Professionals is an English language programme delivered in the context of a career in Business & Enterprise. On this course, students will learn how to evaluate and analyse business behaviours, as well as learn the requirements of launching and operating a new venture.
Throughout the programme, important elements of business will be introduced to students including project management, management styles and techniques, start-up and growth capitals and business structures.
Ideal for aspiring entrepreneurs who want to get a head start in the business world and gain key insights into how success is built, students are taught in small class sizes of 11. Students will learn to evaluate business behaviour from the perspective of a range of stakeholders including owner, shareholder, manager, employee, customer, supplier, lender and government.
Students are taught through a combination of subject theory, practical sessions and group project work. Practical sessions include investigating case studies of large companies and practicing corporate social responsibility when developing a business plan for a new product.
Each week, students also have the opportunity to be inspired to take on a career in Business & Enterprise through visits to destinations such as Cadbury World where they will learn about a multi-billion pound global business.
Students also participate in Skills Elective sessions to give them the best opportunity to build a career in Business & Enterprise with sessions such as interview techniques, a cv workshop and independent learning skills. Weekly projects also aim to improve a student’s English language capability through team-work, public speaking and debate.
